Preachin’ Jesus...Cowboy Style!

    In October, I preached a message titled, “Live Free From Fear”. I started the service with a question, “Is it possible to live free from fear in this dangerous world”? Of course the answer is yes. We all battle fear in some form!

    The question columnist Ann Landers was once asked, “what is the most common problem you are asked to deal with”? Her answer was, “Without a doubt- fear”.

    The good news is though, God has given us a solid promise of protection. But I found out that the promise is not offered to just anyone; it is promised to those who abide in the Lord (Psalm 91). Fear does great damage. It paralyzes our potential for greatness, ruins our relationships and robs us of our happiness and peace. Many lose sleep over fears and worries, and fear can hold us back from true success.

     Let me make this clear though --- God’s promise of protection doesn’t guarantee that the devil will leave you alone! It means God will give you a way of escape.

    Here are a few scriptures that establish clear principles that help in the battle against fear.

    John 8:31-32

    “You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. NLT

    1. Truth is a great weapon against fear.

    1 John 4:18

    “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment”. NKJV

    2. Love will also free you from fear.

    Eph. 6:16

    “In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan”. NLT

    3. Faith is you third weapon.

     

    Let’s join together this month, and move forward into freedom from the fears that hinder our lives.
